As a not-for-profit professional society, ASH WA is committed to advancing the ethical and evidence-informed use of clinical hypnosis across healthcare. Our mission is to ensure that high-quality, live, internationally taught hypnosis training remains accessible to dedicated health professionals—both locally and worldwide—regardless of financial circumstances.

To support this goal, ASH WA offers several scholarship pathways each year. These scholarships honour professional commitment, ethical practice, and a desire to contribute meaningfully to the field.

1. Global Access Scholarships (International – 100% Free Scholarship)

ASH WA is proud to offer up to five full-tuition scholarships each year for final-year students in under-resourced countries where access to professional hypnosis training is limited. Each scholarship covers 100% of the AUD $3495 course fee for the ASH WA Advanced Clinical Hypnosis Training Program.

Eligibility (International Applicants)

– Final-year enrolment in a recognised health or mental health degree or masters program.
– Residence and study in a country with limited access to hypnosis training
– Demonstrated professional motivation and ethical commitment

Application Requirements

  1. CV
    2. Evidence of final-year university enrolment
    3. A 300–400 word statement addressing motivation and ethical intent
    4. No deposit is required for international scholarships

Applications close when the five scholarships are allocated or by 19th December 2025.

2. Local Student Scholarships – 50% Free Scholarship (Australia & New Zealand)

This scholarship supports full-time university students in the final year of a degree that leads to AHPRA registration, AASW membership, or ACA Level 2+ counsellor membership. A total of **two (2)** scholarships are available in this category. Applications will close immediately once the two scholarships have been awarded or on the 19th December 2025.

Eligibility (Local Students)

– Full-time enrolment
– Final-year status in an eligible graduate or undergraduate program

Application Requirements

  1. CV
  2. Current evidence of full-time university enrolment
  3. A 300–400 word statement of motivation and ethical intent
  4. A $1000 deposit (see payment and confirmation instructions below)

Payment Method (EFT + Email Confirmation)

Scholarship applications requiring a deposit must be accompanied by a $1000 EFT payment using the bank details provided on the ASH WA website. Please use your full name only as the payment reference.

After making the EFT payment, please send an email to ashwa.hyp@gmail.com with:
• a copy of your EFT receipt, and
• your full name, profession, email address, mobile number, and WhatsApp contact number.

3. Domestic Partial Scholarships – $700 Fee Reduction (Australia & New Zealand)

These scholarships assist local healthcare professionals who may experience financial barriers to enrolment in the Advanced Clinical Hypnosis Training Program.

Eligibility (Domestic Applicants)

– AHPRA‑registered healthcare professionals
– AASW‑registered social workers
– ACA‑registered counsellors (Level 2+)

Application Requirements

  1. CV
  2. Proof of AHPRA registration or professional association membership
  3. A 300–400 word motivation statement
  4. A $1000 deposit (see payment and confirmation instructions above)

Deposit and Refund Policy (Domestic Applicants)

– If awarded, remaining $1795 must be paid within 7 days.
– If not awarded, the full $1000 will be refunded within 48 hours of receipt of bank details.

Applications close 19 December 2025, or earlier if all scholarship places are allocated.

Scholarship Application Form

The Australian Society of Hypnosis WA (ASH WA) is a not-for-profit organization dedicated to the training of registered healthcare professionals in the practice of hypnosis. Originally there were two professional hypnosis societies in Western Australia, one of which was the West Australian branch of the Australian Society of Hypnosis Limited. The other society was the West Australian Society of Medical Hypnosis ( WASMH ) which coincidentally was the first professional hypnosis society in Australia. WASMH was also a foundation constituent society member of the International Society of Hypnosis (ISH) when that body was first formed over 50 years ago. In 1989 ISH WA & WASMH decided to merge and the new organisation became the Australian Society of Hypnosis WA.

The Australian Society of Hypnosis WA was welcomed back as a Constituent Society of the International Society of Hypnosis in January 2024. It is the only Hypnosis Society in WA to receive this recognition.
